One of Paramount's Secret Gems: Winona

Made in the USA. Those words have such strong meaning, and increase in significance every day. While we do manufacture some products internationally, it is very nice to be able to say that we also have products that are 100% made in the USA and even are domestic to Missouri. In addition to our home office and decorating facilities in Bourbon, Missouri, we also have our manufacturing warehouse in Winona, Missouri.

Plant Manager of the Paramount Winona facility, David Proctor, shares the history and capabilities of the Winona plant:

"Paramount Cap came to Winona in 1953. It has evolved through four different buildings to the plant that it is in today. The current plant was built in 1985 and is 50,000 square feet. We currently have a payroll of 140 people on 3 shifts, making us the largest employer in the county. We have evolved from a totally cut and sew operation into a diversified plant. We still produce a complete 100% "Made in USA" cap. We also embellish on both domestic and imported headwear. There is also a great deal of embroidery done on tee shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, shorts and pants. Anything that a person can imagine we have embroidered on it.

In our embroidery departments we have 62 machines with 874 embroidery heads. These are a good mix of flat, tubular, and finished cap machines allowing us to be able to handle all types of embroidery. We also have the ability to cut appliques in house with both a laser and water jet cutting system.

In our cap sewing area we have what has to be some of the most experienced headwear craftsman in the country. They have an average of 20 years experience and several employees with over 30 years of experience.

Even though there is a daily truck that delivers raw goods and products to embellish and returns the finished good to both the Bourbon and Sullivan warehouses, we have the ability to ship direct from here using UPS and FedEx, plus other trucking lines.

In the past we have produced many well known products, including, the cap that Tiger Woods wore when he won his first Masters in 1997. We have also produced headwear for Bobby Bowden on the Florida State sidelines, headwear for the USA Ryder Cup team, and hats for the USA Olympic Team to name a few.

Those are pretty good accomplishments for a plant in a small town in South Central Missouri."

Speaking of Winona, many of you may be wondering where Winona is? Here are some fun facts about the town and its whereabouts:

No, we understand QR codes are nothing new, but they are really starting to take shape in our marketing society.

Want to direct someone right to your website? That’s easy, post a QR code.
